Midseason Break

So NFL is in full-swing, baseball is finished and awards are done, NBA is underway, and I’m getting married next month.  Guess what, the last one wins out.  Sorry for the lack of new posts but sometimes there are things a little more important than a sports blog.  But hey, keep checking back because this sports blog hasn’t lost any importance, it just has some competition currently.

Meanwhile, go Titans, go Giants, go Jazz!

This Week in Sports

A lot has happened lately.
1.  Phillies won the World Series.  Congratulations to them.  Unfortunately, I don’t really care and looking at the ratings (worst World Series ratings ever) not many other people did, either.  All that rain didn’t help.  Shorten the season?  Play at a neutral/predetermined site?

2.  NBA season starts.  As a Mavs and Jazz fan, I’m cheering but I’m not holding out hope for either hoisting the trophy next summer.

3.  #1 Texas loses to Texas Tech.  Frankly, after BYU got blown to pieces by TCU I don’t care much for college football either.

4.  More NFL football.  Woohoo!!  The season is going swimmingly for me, despite Tom Brady out of action.  The Titans are undefeated, Giants are best in the NFC, and the Patriots lead the division.

Stone Cold Picks of the Week:
-Giants are 8 point favorites and I see them winning by a lot more over Brad Johnson’s Cowboys.
-Titans will stay undefeated with a win over the new ARod’s Packers.
-Matt Cassel’s Patriots come out of Indy with a win.
-Minnesota stops the Texans’ win streak in a close game.
-Cleveland beats Baltimore.
